Ramadan
Ramadan: the Muslim month of fasting, prayer and giving
What this journey is for
A thirty-day journal for Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, when many Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, read the Quran, pray and give. It follows the month from its first evening through the last ten nights to Eid al-Fitr, the festival that ends it. Ramadan comes about eleven days earlier each year, and you can use this journal in the month itself or at any time. No prior knowledge is needed, and you do not need to fast or observe anything to begin.
When is it?
The ninth month of the Islamic calendar, about eleven days earlier each year. You can begin in the season itself or at any time of year.
Each day
A short passage, one question to sit with, room to write and one small practice. About five minutes.
